Time Out Live: Kevin Morby plays "The Dead They Don't Come Back"

Kevin Morby was one of our favorite Brooklyn musicians for a while–right up to the point where he moved to Los Angeles (we'll forgive him just this once). Before that the Kansas City native performed regularly with two of the borough's most dependable indie-rock outfits, as a bassist for Woods and co-frontperson for the Babies (the latter is on hiatus). His output since moving out west carries on that work, releasing 2013's Harlem River and 2014's Still Life, a pair of soulful, melancholic records that highlight Morby's sharp songwriting and wooly voice.
